I cannot be the only mommy whose children could fall under the category of "Special Needs." Why is this a silent forum? Does no one discuss their special needs children on their blogs? I feel like we all should be out there discussing the rise and fall from the moment of concern/discover through diagnosis, treatment, and acceptance. I have a two year old who may have Williams Syndrome but at least has dealt with developmental delay and is currently in a special needs preschool to help with psychosocial and cognitive delays. My six month as was just evaluated yesterday for possible developmental delay, and later this week we'll conference on whether he, too, will need to join big sis at the facility. My six year old has unfortunately been a victim of sexual abuse, but beyond that may well have some form of high-functioning autism--we're still in the discovery phase with her counseling team. She attends a regular elementary school, but they have her in a classroom which utilizes iPads. She's excited about that. She hyper focuses on electronics.
