Title: not seeing voting confirmation screen anymore; is it still in use?
Post by: ejayo on Dec 08, 2010 @ 09:55 PM
In the past, when people voted for my blog they saw a confirmation screen saying that they had voted. It seems like that is no longer happening.

I saw in the FAQ that there is no longer any special voting code; I tried swapping in the new code which lacks my username in it, and I get the same result; no confirmation of a vote going through to my site.

my site is currently ranked at 51; I'm not sure if the votes are going through or not at this point.

Also, am I correct in assuming that there would be no way to mail a voting link to someone, since the voting system detects the domain where the visitor is coming from?

my site is at www.sarahhoffmanwriter.com

any feedback would be appreciated

The gateway page was originally intended to prevent pop-ups from counting towards referrals as an anti-cheating method but because of the new browsers preventing these pop-ups, that function was not implemented in the systems latest version. It was an obsolete function according to the program developer (even though it was handy for extra instructions). People just click on your banner.

You'll want to log in and check your stats to see how your site is doing (vs the rank pages which reflect yesterdays activity).

Nope.. people can't vote through email. So many members were complaining about people being able to get votes from external sources. Now all the traffic needs to come directly from your blog.
