Title: HTTPS & Wordpress hosted blogs special voting code
Post by: Karen {Admin} on Jan 28, 2016 @ 01:57 PM
I finally have a fix for my Wordpress hosted & HTTPS bloggers. Unfortunately, it's not automatic but it works.

If your URL looks like any of the following, then use then follow the instructions below.

If you already have banners up or are adding a new banner replace edit the banner code and replace:

http://www.topmommyblogs.com/

with

http://www.topmommyblogs.com/index.php?a=in&u=YOURUSERNAME

Of course you'll need to enter your actual username where it says YOURUSERNAME. On your banner page in the member area the code given will be specific to your account but here, it's general so update w/your username. Also remember, all of the banners are coded w/the home page so any banner you use, you'll need to replace homepage link with the special voting link like above.

Secure websites (https) or sometimes sub-domains aren't tracked under the normal voting set up but if you use that special code it will track you and your readers can vote for you.

If your blog isn't HTTPS and you're not having any voting issues, do not use the code above. Tracking works best when http://www.topmommyblogs.com is used. I've seen many members change to that link for no reason. That link is only intended for https bloggers.

Just discovered this may apply to your blog if you house your blog in a sub-domain such as http://blog.mydomain.com

It doesn't cause a total disruption but enough that you will likely need to use the special voting link like https members.
