Poor sick babies here's some tip i do and found.
« on: Feb 28, 2016 @ 03:45 PM »
This week my poor babies are sick so I thought I would give a couple tips on how to make them feel better and how to have a better chance at preventing them getting sick. Somethings I found but kind of already knew was to keep your hands clean, cough and sneeze in your elbow and to use have hand sanitizer on standby. But one thing I was told by my mom was to cut an onion in half and put it in a room and it was supposedly supposed to suck all the sickness out of the air. I havent tried it but I am curious to know if it works.
So theres some ways to help prevent it but my kids are already sick so Im going to give you some tips on how to make them feel better or more comfortable. When their sick with a cold I run a humidifier in their room when they sleep and right before bed I rub kids vapor rub on the chest and on their feet. It supposed to help open their air ways and to make them less congested, helping them not to cough. But some things I found was you can also use saline drops and have them blow their nose, or have their head raised while sleeping, and to give them a lot of liquids to help them be less congested.
Now medicine I have a little one that does not like to take medicine at all. So I secretly at his medicine to juice thats about the same flavor, but I have also found different ways of helping kids take medicine that I found quite interesting.  Something that I found out and I would like to try is tricking the tongue, it says to coat the tongue with syrup, or have your kid eat an ice pop before you give them anything, or to have some juice to drink after taking the medicine. The site also lists different techniques you could use to help out. http://www.everydayhealth.com/kids-health/10-ways-to-get-kids-to-take-medicine.aspx

No that your kid is decongested and has medicine in them let find a fun activity for them to do while their sick. What I do is have a movie day where they get to pick what we watch, or I read them stories of anything they want to hear, they like comics the most. But I also found a site that list different activities you can do the site is http://www.todaysparent.com/family/activities/10-sick-day-activities/.
