So, I'm 70 days postpartum today (but who's counting?) and I haven't lost nearly what I did in comparison to my first pregnancy two years ago. For me, all the stereotypes rang true: I ate better while pregnant with my son, gained less, and what I did gain didn't just will-nilly land on my ass and thighs.
Fast-forward to this pregnancy with DD: It was Taco Bell and Fillet-O Fish on the regular, and, boy have my thighs paid the price. (Hello, saddlebags!)
After my most recent doctor's appointment, I've decided to get serious after I've grown tired of choking back tears during the weigh-in portion of my visits. I'm now juicing in the morning (sometimes before bed), drastically cut down on my portion sizes, and am saying no to sugar and bad snacks. My snack of choice now are 6 wheat saltines smeared with all-natural strawberry preserves and one stick of aged Vermont white cheddar cheese. As for exercise, I walk when I can with the kids in the double stroller, but as a SAHM of two under three with no help, that's about all I can do for now. I try to fit in 15 min of power yoga three times a week.
What worked for you? How long did it take you? I'm only looking for super-safe ways, here, because I'm nursing DD.
