My mother told me to write a book!
« on: May 16, 2016 @ 08:30 PM »
I've always written journals, poems, and stories to deal with life. As my years of parenting started to fly by people were cracking up at my Facebook statuses... especially when they had to do with my oldest- aka Blondie. One day my mom said "you really need to write a book" so I started a blog.  I was surprised to have more than 3 readers. I was really surprised to find out that people in my town were following along. Then when I adopted my little ones, and for a while I wasn't my normally candid self. I tried to protect the sister that destroyed her own life and left me to pick up the pieces. One day I decided to let it all out, and I started writing again. I try to protect portions of the story, just because there is no reason to add more hurt to an already painful story, but at the end of the day this is my life, and I say what I need to say to stay sane and to push myself to see the blessings in the tough times.  Raising 7 kids is tough, but it's worth it, and one day I might just finish that book and sell it, and maybe then I can finally re-tile my floors! :)

Write on!  I'd read that book!

When I was 12 years old, I used to yell at my alcoholic mother, "I'm going to write a book someday, and you're going to be sorry."
Well now I'm an adult and starting to write again has been the most therapeutic thing I have done for myself. Now I don't even divulge a lot of my childhood experiences on my blog, but I also don't dance around the truth. I do tell some of the events in order to make any one out there feel less alone.
