Surge in views, but no surge in votes
« on: Mar 16, 2011 @ 06:56 AM »
I recently was flattered to have Kris from Pretty All Trus feature me.  As a result, my blog views spiked to triple what they usually are (on 3/13).  Not only were the views higher, but I received much positive feedback, so I know people liked what they read.  I expected in the next day or two to see a big jump in my votes and a higher ranking.  I did not.  What's up with that?
PS: I have a vote button at the top of the page as well as the bottom of the post.

Hi farmbeachgal.

Since it's a monthly average, not a tally system, you shouldn't expect to see big spikes. The 24 hour update delay slows things down as well.

Also, a rise in page views doesn't necessarily mean your visitors are clicking through to TMB (or any other 3rd party site). The site is tracking people who visit TMB via your blog and not tracking your blogs page views.
