How do you find them?

I've only recently gone public with my blog, and I'd love to do a few (read maybe 1 a month) giveaways and/or reviews, but I have no idea how to go about doing this.  Anyone got any helpful hints? 

Sorry for the obviously newbie question.

Are you looking for someone to sponsor you and send you items to review/give away, or are you looking to review/give away items that you have purchased?
