Link parties
« on: Aug 20, 2012 @ 11:02 AM »
I love link parties, I have found them to be a very useful tool in building my own blog views, and comments! Plus I find fun, interesting, and creative blogs by visiting other blogs that used the same link party.  It really is a great blogging tool for all those involved.  So here is my question, I have a few link party ideas, but how is the best way to go about it.  I know I should create a button, and what not but how do I really get started?  I am not sure my ego could take a link party that no one linked to LOL :)

I've been eyeballing other link parties and I'm super interested. I have no experience with them so I can't really give you any guidelines but as soon as you do one let me know! I'd love to be a part of it!

Some of the blogs that you read, visit or follow have link parties.  A link party includes crafts, recipes, and many other things.  Basically a blog will host one, on a specific day, week, ect.  You can link your blog post that pertains to that specific link party and others will be able to view your blog from other peoples blogs.  Some blogs will even feature links they liked from the week before and have a special button you can post on your blog saying that you were featured there.  I don't know if I explained that very well LOL but just as a heads up I am starting my own Link party on Thursday August  30th so maybe checking that out, and joining will give you a better idea of what I am talking about. :)

I went and visited your blog but am still totally confused as to what a link party is.  I did leave a comment on your blog for today though.

Thanks for the comment! Yesterday I accidentally posted twice. ( I thought that it was past midnight LOL) anyway if you go to my home page, scroll down to the second post titled "Test It Out Thursday"  ( Test It Out Thursday simply means anything you have tried, or tested when you heard, read, or were shown it...examples new crafts, recipes, stories of new mothering ways, honestly anything) In the bottom left corner of that post you will see a blue button that says "add your link" if you click on it, it will open up.  It will then ask you for the URL of your blog post.  I know that you have a lot of great recipes on your page.  So choose one and copy and pate the URL of that post in this spot.  Then it will ask you for name, you can put your name here, the name of your blog, or the name of your post.  Then it will ask you for your e-mail (your e-mail will not be shared)  Once you have done all this, you will see your blog post on my Test It Out Thursday post, so anyone who visits my page will automatically be able to see yours.  I have linked several of my crafts to other link parties, every time I have I have gotten high volumes of traffic.  It is a great way to really get your blog out there, plus a fantastic way to see new blogs that you may be interested in!
