Ads/Shareasale/FTC Regs

What is your understanding of FTC regulations in regards to banners and hyperlinks? One of my merchants is Gymboree and they provided me with  sample disclosure language. So I've added that basic disclosure language at the top of each of my blog pages. However, I don't see this same language on many other blogs. I'm wondering if I'm being overly cautious or if others are unaware of the regs?

Hi Shelie,

Good question

you dont need it on every page. Just create an FTC page and have a link to it on your top menu or footer.

Most bloggers (myself included) keep it in the footer section.

How that helps

I have a little blip about using affiliate link in the footer of my blog and I have an affiliate link policy on a separate page. As long as you have it somewhere on your site you are covered. Most people don't really care and are not going to read it anyway so it doesn't really matter where it is, as long as it can be found.
