Filling their blog with nothing but reviews and giveaways.  Once in awhile, they're great, but if that's all you do, it's really annoying.

Also, when the ads take over the page.  If I can't find your content among the ads, I'm not reading.

Auto-play music.

Please, no. Just, no.

It interferes with any music I might be listening to, and if I'm sneaking some online time while the baby toddler naps and not expecting music to play and the volume's up and your music comes blaring out? Not rad, people. Not rad at all.

Linking a photo to itself! I know some platforms automatically do this so it's an extra step to remove the link but it drives me crazy when I click on a photo & instead of it taking me to a larger version or a different page, it just opens up the exact same image. Take the link off or make the link more usefull.

Pop-ups. I don't mind ads on a blog. But when I get to a blog and I start reading and suddenly something pops up
It's like shoving it in my face saying."Here like my fcebook, here, here like it." It can be worse when viewing it on a
phone.

Yeah, I am starting to see a lot of Facebook pop-ups. I am not a fan but they can be very effective for things like Facebook or newsletter signups. If there's more then one, or there's a pop up the page isn't loading fast because of widgets and pop-up combos, I leave.

I second auto-play music. I automatically leave a blog with music.

Auto-play music is definitely a big no-no for me as well.

For layouts, I can't stand when a blog is just too busy - filled with too many links and buttons, everything just looks cramped. I'm not a fan.

I agree with much of this list (especially the nothing but giveaways piece).  If I have to work to find something real to comment on, I'm leaving.

I'd also add having too much stuff on the page which makes it take too long to load.  I just scrubbed/cleaned up my page, moved some things around and it loads so much faster now.  It's funny, I always saw that advice, but it took me a while to figure out I wasn't following it.

Sometimes it's heard to notice the mess or slowdowns on your own blog. You get used to the clutter and usually your blog will load faster for you since you've already been there. I'm always a little sad visiting sites after I clear my cache- I realize the slower page load on a fresh visit.

Here's another- to many font styles/colors/sizes in the post body. Style sheets are our friends! I just visited a blog that was like a circus fun house. I had no idea what I was supposed to be looking at and was getting dizzy trying. I left. We don't realize it but we are trained from all of our school papers- headings, paragraphs, bold, white space, etc.  A little is fun, a lot is a bad trip for your reader. It was like this:

Cupcake Ipsum
dolor sit amet. Halvah cake pie gummies bear claw souffl .I love lollipopLemon drops chupa chups souffl bonbon. Biscuit jujubes chupa chups cotton candy bonbon gingerbread. I love muffin biscuit cotton candy chocolate cake jujubes tootsie roll. Bonbon tart souffl pudding I love. Cake macaroon lemon drops wafer I love cookie.

I tend to never re-visit blogs with

Auto music play or video play. (visited a blog where a video was the first thing I heard and the page had not even completely loaded)
So many ads I can't find content
Clashing  bright colors
Dark backgrounds with dark color type

Pop- ups don't really bother me unless there are too many. I do like the pop-ups that ask me to sign up for a newsletter when I try to close out

Blogs that make it difficult to comment.  I hate captcha (although I get why some bloggers feel it is necessary) and if I have to enter the code more than once, I usually rethink whether or not I really want to leave that comment.  I like to comment with open URL and it bugs me when that isn't an option.  There is a blog out there that I love reading but the comment form is hard to find.

I sometimes participate in a midweek linkup and I'm always so surprised at how hard it is to comment on some of the blogs.  It makes me lose interest and move on pretty quickly.

Pop-ups ads, slow-loading website, writing for everyone, inconsistent or excessive posting.

My blogging don't is actually a little different. My biggest "don't" would be using my daughter's real name in order to protect her and her privacy. I just call her by her nickname Beanie.  ;D

I agree with most of this. The auto play music, I can not stand it because like one person said if the baby is sleeping and it plays then she wakes up. Also doing a lot of product reviews. Once in a while they are fine, especially if it is something that you use on a daily basis or couldn't live without, but when every post I see is a review I am not going to follow you blog. I blog for fun, not to make money, I am not going to lie though, if I do make some money at it that's great too, but that is not the only reason I blog and when someone only does review posts I can tell they are in it to try to make money. I will only review products that I have used multiple times. I also agree with the comment about bright colors or dark colors, but in the same token I do not want to visit a page that has no design and is just the posts. I like a little color and a few different fonts for the title/heading.
These are all great advise for a new blogger like me too. I will check out my blog and make sure I follow these. I just cleaned up my page the other day!! Thanks everyone!
