Creative Blogger Templates?
« on: Apr 16, 2014 @ 12:22 PM »
Hi!

I write about my family life at http://stayathomewifeandwriter.blogspot.com/  . I really want to stick with Blogger because I have found that I get much higher traffic than I did with Wordpress. I really haven't considered paying for hosting because I can't code, and because I don't use my blog to sell ads or to otherwise make money, so a free blog seems like the best option for me.

Are there any good websites to get creative templates or backgrounds that will work with free Blogger accounts? I used to run a literary/photography magazine, and I'd love a more creative look on my blog.

Thanks :)

I'm sure I'm of little to no help. I am familiar with coding so take this with a grain of salt.

I found this place to be a great resource for those looking to add elements and customize their blog to their liking. I realize it's not really showing you templates you can use. But I feel it gives a very down to earth feel to those who may not be familiar with coding etc.

Hi I visited your blog and I would definitely change the template. Because now it looks very generic, and like you just started blogging.

I always use the Simple Template and then add fonts, a header and background. It's easy and you give your blog a very professional look. Just check out my blogs. They're both Blogger blogs.

Good luck!

I have not read anyone else's response to this, so forgive me if I repeat.
Altho there are some sites out there that you can find templates, they elude me at the moments,
but I did want to say, first, many of bloggers templates can still be edited quite a bit, but since you mentioned you used to run a magazine, I find the their flip template very useful, as the reader has 6 choices to view it, and you can set your default view to any of the 6, and it is very responsive.

I also have blogs on both Blogger and Wordpress, Blogger being the oldest of the list, with WP being a littler newer... I actually like them both, I find both useful in different ways.
